NEW YEAR!

2009... What a year. What a silly amount of chaos. But, from chaos comes creation and substance. So here's to 2010 being a productive year!

The above picture was done in the last 3 hours of Jan 1st this year as a submission for an online art magazine (http://acetona-acetona.blogspot.com/).
The idea is that the artwork had to be done on Jan 1st. That way all the artists submitting were drawn together on the 1st day of the year in a global creative outburst.

Religion (all of them).

Isn't it true that you start your life a sweet child, believing in everything under your father's roof? Then comes the day of the Laodiceans, when you know you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, and with the visage of a gruesome, grieving ghost you go shuddering through nightmare life...

The one thing that we yearn for in our living days, that makes us sigh and groan and undergo sweet nauseas of all kinds, is the remembrance of some lost bliss that was probably experienced in the womb and can only be reproduced (though we hate to admit it) in death...

What difference does it make after all?--anonymity in the world of men is better than fame in heaven, for what's heaven? what's earth? All in the mind...

(So... The people you meet...)

...They danced down the streets like dingledodies, and I shambled after as I've been doing all my life after people who interest me, because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn...

I drew this while at my day job. Slowly feeling my brain melt away with the tedium of telemarketing... Feeling a tad lost behind that computer screen all day.

Also, it's been raining in Melbourne alot. And alot of it has soaked me.
